    What are the different streams of NSNP 2021?

    Below are the various immigration streams under the NSNP that facilitate immigrants with different sets of skills to apply for provincial nomination in PR Canada:

    • Nova Scotia Demand: Express Entry – This stream is for selecting highly skilled applicants who have a valid express entry profile. Through this stream, NSNP is able to search for qualified candidates in the federal government’s express entry pool.
    • Nova Scotia Experience: Express Entry – This program is compatible with the federal government's Express Entry Program, which allows express entry applicants to apply for provincial nominations. Candidates must have a minimum of one year of work experience in a skilled profession to qualify under this stream.
    • Nova Scotia Skilled Workers – This stream enables the province to select employers, foreign workers and international graduates with the skills required in the province. In order to submit an application for PR under this program, a skilled employer is required to have a job offer from a qualified employer.
    • Nova Scotia Physician – This stream has been for skilled immigrants. Candidates who have job offers from any health institution in the province.
    • Nova Scotia Entrepreneurs – This stream provides an immigration route to Nova Scotia for experienced traders around the world to run their own or buy an existing business in the province. After the business has been operating for a minimum of one year, they are designated for permanent residential status.
    • Nova Scotia International Graduate Entrepreneur – This stream targets recent international graduates from the province's educational institutions. Those who have started or owned a business in the province and have been able to operate it for a minimum of one year.
    • Nova Scotia Labor Market Priority – - This category targets skilled express entry candidates who work with skilled professional experience tailored to the needs of the province. To date, this stream is only accepting applications from immigrants who have been able to gain experience as Early Childhood Educators and Assistants (NOC Code 4214).
    • Nova Scotia Occupations in-Demand – These stream targets immigrants who are getting job-offers in on-demand occupations from qualified employers in the province. This stream applies with work experience as Nurse Assistant, Orderly and Patient Service Associate (NOC Code 3413) or Transport Truck Driver (NOC Code 7511)

    What are the minimum application requirements for NSNP in 2021 as per Nova Scotia demand: Express Entry Division?

    An express entry candidate must meet the minimum requirements to apply for provincial nomination through NSNP in 2020:

    • Must have a valid express entry profile
    • The stream must score a minimum of 67 points or more in six selection factors
    • Must have a job offer from a qualified employer in the province for a skilled profession
    • Minimum one year work experience related to job offer
    • Must have a Canadian High School Certificate or equivalent
    • Minimum Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) Level 7 required for language proficiency
    • The province must show minimal settlement funding to support the move

    The processing time of the eligible application is about 3 months or more. Candidates must apply to the Immigration, Refugee and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) for their permanent resident visa within six months of receiving the certificate of provincial nomination. Candidates and their spouses or dependents must meet all requirements for criminal recognition, medical and protection.

    What are the documents required by the candidate to apply for NSNP 2021?

    Below is a list of the minimum set of documents that need to be applied for provincial nomination through NSNP 2021:

    • Certificate of Overseas Education including ECA (Educational Credential Assessment) has been verified
    • Language test like IELTS scorecard
    • Letters of reference
    • Documents of valid travel
    • Marriage Certificate (if applicable)
    • Evidence of funds which include bank statements etc.
    • Any other relevant documents included in the document checklist

    Other major ways to move to the province of Nova Scotia in 2021

    Nova Scotia Provincial Nomination Program - In addition to the Nova Scotia Nominee Program, other immigration routes in the province are through the Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program (AIPP).

    Nova Scotia is one of four Atlantic provinces participating in the Immigration Pilot Program that allows eligible Atlantic employers to fill the job vacancies in the province's labor market with foreign workers that they cannot fill locally.
